Castle Stuart Golf Links
Castle Stuart Golf Links recently held the Scottish Open on the Moray Coast. It is a splendid venue and relatively new golf course and offers you a real test.
Moray Golf Club
Staying on the Moray Coast, the Old Course at Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth features possibly the finest hole in Scotland, designed by ‘Old’ Tom Morris with ‘deep riveted bunkers, undulating gorse lined fairways and smooth fast greens. It is a superb test of golf with seven par fours over 400 yards’.
Hopeman boasts The Prieshach – the signature hole, just a few miles away form Lossiemouth, has one of the most incredible par 3 hole in the country.
Venturing in the other direction and further North, Royal Dornoch is a links classic and a favourite of five-time Open champion, Tom Watson. Championship Course ranked No.6 in the world and No.1 in Scotland by Golf Digest 2014
The Nairn Golf Club
Nearby, Nairn has two championship golf courses to be proud of set in stunning scenery; The Nairn Golf Club is a terrific links course, which possesses sensational views across the Moray Firth.
At the other side of Nairn, in equally attractive settings is Nairn Dunbar, which opened in 1899 and has a long history of hosting national tournaments such as the 2013 Scottish Alliance Championship. These are both real gems.

Nairn Dunbar is a traditional Scottish Links Course (one of the Great Links Collection), and has been carrying out a systematic plan of continuous improvement over the last 4 years turning a very good golf course into a great golf course.

Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club
Nestled in leafy parkland looking onto the Cairngorm mountains , Grantown has one superb 18-hole golf course, very different in style, character and golfing challenge which attracts many golfing societies due to its charm and playability factor. Established in 1890 Grantown-on-Spey Golf Club is one of the finest golf venues in Cairngorm National Park area. The course was designed by Willie Park with assistance from James Braid. Situated in the Cairngorm National Park, the course is approximately thirty five miles south east of Inverness. Grantown is the capital of Strathspey and is a small and friendly town with a grand history of tourism.
There are some great alternatives to links courses too close by.
Spey Valley is a top inland venue near Aviemore with the Cairngorms Mountains forming a stunning backdrop, Boat of Garten is also a great alternative to a links golf course which is also in the area.
If you want something a little bit different, the 9-hole course at Durness on the north coast to experience the shot ‘across the Atlantic’ on the final hole.
